Peppermint Oreo Balls

Peppermint Oreo Balls

These are the ultimate holiday cookie! Made with Oreo cookies and cream cheese, dipped in melted chocolate and topped with crushed candy canes, these Peppermint Oreo Balls are sure to be a forever favorite.

Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies
  • 8 ounces plain cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 teaspoon peppermint or mint extract, divided
  • 8 ounces melting white chocolate
  • 8 ounces melting milk chocolate
  • Crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Place whole cookies in food processor or blender and pulse to fine crumbles; can also place cookies in a freezer bag, cover with kitchen towel, and crush cookies using a rolling pin until fine crumbles

  2. Using stand or handheld mixer, cream together 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract and cream cheese in large mixing bowl

  3. Add cookie crumbles to cream cheese; mix until well combined

  4. Make 1 inch cookie balls using a small scoop or spoon and place on lined baking sheet

  5. Place cookies in freezer, at least 20 minutes

  6. Melt white and milk chocolate in separate bowls per package directions

  7. (Optional) If stronger peppermint flavor desired, add 1/4 teaspoon mint to each bowl of melted white and milk chocolate

  8. Remove cookie balls from freezer and dip 1/2 into melted white chocolate and 1/2 into melted milk chocolate; drop ball into melted chocolate, cover completely and remove with fork allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Use knife to slide off fork onto lined baking sheet.

  9. Top each cookie with crushed candy canes before chocolate sets

  10. Refrigerate up to an hour allowing chocolate to set before serving

  11. Store in sealed container in refrigerator

Ingredients

  • Large Board or Platter
  • 2 small ramekins or prep bowls
  • 3-4 small tongs or forks for serving
  • 1 small spoon
  • 1 bunch Dark Leafy Green Lettuce, washed and dried
  • 1 package Fresh Rosemary Sprigs
  • 12-14 ounces Deli Meat (salami, prosciutto, ham)
  • 8 ounces White Cheddar Cheese Block (or favorite type)
  • 8 ounces Pepper Jack Cheese Cubes
  • 1/2 pint Raspberries, washed and dried
  • 1/2 pint Blueberries, washed and dried
  • 1 whole Pomegranate, seeded
  • 15.8 ounce package Individually Wrapped Chocolates, festive colors
  • 4.5 ounces Greek Olive Medley
  • 8 ounces Cherry Tomatoes, washed and dried
  • 1-2 boxes Variety Of Crackers (bite-sized everything crackers, water crackers)
  • 10 ounce jar Berry/Cranberry Jam (or favorite flavor)

Instructions

  1. Lay lettuce leaves flat in a circular pattern on the board leaving open center

  2. Place berries at bottom of circle creating two symmetrical "pods" 

  3. Place olives in small ramekins and place at top left corner of circle

  4. Slice 1/2 of white cheddar cheese block

  5. Place white cheddar cheese block at top of circle, arranging sliced cheese in front of the block

  6. Spread cheese cubes around olive ramekins

  7. Set open and stirred jar of jam in center of circle

  8. Lay rosemary sprigs around outside of circle

  9. Arrange rolled meat slices at top right of circle, if using prosciutto, fold slices

  10. Place one variety of crackers at top of board filling in spaces between cheeses, meat, and jam

  11. Place water crackers at bottom of circle between berry pods

  12. User wrapped chocolates to fill in open areas between berries and meat and berries and cheese 

  13. Spread cherry tomatoes at top of circle filling in open areas

  14. Spread pomegranate seeds between chocolates and berry pods

  15. Place 2-3 tongs around the board (can also use forks if tongs not available) and spoon in jam for serving

  16. Serve and Enjoy!
